I was born in the year of the tiger, too. I’ve been thinking of you as I just read a lovely novel, “The Harmony Silk Factory” by Tash Aw, which is set in Malaysia. I would very much like to know more about that beautiful and fascinating place.

I am well or at least getting healthier due to an exercise regime. I hope you are well too. You have not posted for awhile and I wonder what news there is of Flip. I am ashamed ton say that I have not read Tash Aw’s novel. Sadly, such novels do not get much fanfare in Modern Malaysia as the politicos want to forget that part of our history. Yet as you have undoubtedly found out,it was a very romantic period to be in Malaya.
